The NJCAA has named Christian Russell as the association's Chief Information Officer. Russell will help guide the association's technological strategy and advancements.
Before joining the NJCAA, Russell served as a consultant for Cisco Systems where he operated as a Community Manager and Community Engineer for the organization's Tech Zone community.
NJCAA Executive Director Dr. Christopher Parker sees Russell's previous experience as a primary factor to revamping the association's technological objectives. "Christian's experience with Cisco is very valuable as we move toward building a technological platform that will make our athletic directors and coaches lives easier."
Russell's first tasks as CIO will be to revamp the MVP website, coordinate the technology infrastructure at the new NJCAA headquarters in Charlotte, NC, and pursue new technology partners to launch NJCAA into the future realm of digital transformation.
"I'm excited and grateful for this opportunity," stated Russell. "I'm from a new generation of technology professionals. I'm here to help the national office and the NJCAA as a whole evolve forward from any aspect that I can support."
"We are very pleased to add Christian Russell as our CIO and we look forward to the digital transformation of the NJCAA under his can-do work ethic," added Dr. Parker.
