Six members introduced to the NJCAA

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced the onboarding of six new member colleges to join the association beginning this academic year, including Philips Community College of the University of Arkansas, Northwest Iowa Community College, Big Bend Community College (WA), University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County, Mohave Community College (AZ), and Blackhawk Technical College (WI).

Out of Region 2, Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas will compete at the Division II level in men's and women's basketball.

Big Bend Community College will compete in NJCAA Region 18 at the Division I level. The Vikings will only offer men's and women's wrestling as part of the NJCAA.

Out of Region 11, Northwest Iowa Community College will compete at the Division II level. The Thunder will offer men's and women's soccer.

Blackhawk Technical Community College will compete in NJCAA Region 4. They will be offering bowling, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's clay target shooting, and men's golf. The Talons have been offering club sports but will transition into the NJCAA for the 2024-25 year. All sports will compete at the Division II level. Also joining the region is the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County who will be competing in men's soccer and women's volleyball. The Warhawks will be participating at the Division III level.

Mohave Community College will compete in NJCAA Region 1 at the Division I level. The Bighorns will be offering men's and women's soccer.

As a returning NJCAA member, Big Bend has been approved to be eligible for the post-season in 2024-25 while the remaining five schools will not be eligible for the post-season until 2025-26.
