Grayson's Dylann Kaderka named DI Pitcher of the Year
Charlotte, NC – Grayson (TX) pitcher Dylann Kaderka has been named the 2021 NJCAA Division I Softball Pitcher of the Year, presented by the Marines.
Kaderka, an NJCAA First-Team All-America selection, earns the top honor after leading the nation with 31 wins, finishing her freshman season 31-4 overall with a 2.28 ERA (66 er/202.2 IP) and 212 strikeouts.
"Dylann was not just our leader on the field and in the circle, she was a team leader off the field as well," said Grayson head softball coach Michael McBrayer. "The players that she led will have some huge shoes to step into. I think she taught each and every one of them how to do it and how to do it the right way."
The left-handed pitcher helped the Vikings to a second-place finish in their first NJCAA Division I Softball Championship appearance. Kaderka earned the tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher award, tossing 38.0 innings with 30 strikeouts in five starts.
In addition to earning the tournament MVP, the Southern Arkansas commit was the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Year, a five-time NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week, First-Team All-Conference Pitcher, NFCA First-Team All-Region, and an NFCA First-Team All-American.
