Two Inducted into Men’s Golf Hall of Fame
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced the inductees into the 2025 class of the NJCAA Men's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The honorees include two coaches.
Charlie Bock | Coach | Catawba Valley (NC)
Charlie Bock was the leader of a very successful Catawba Valley Men's Golf Program. Bock was at the helm of the Red Hawks from 1977 to 1993. The Red Hawks claimed their first and only national championship when they claimed the 1990 NJCAA Men's Golf National Championship. Bock continued the success of the program with a National Runner-up finish in 1991 and a Third-Place National finish in 1993.
Upon retiring from coaching in 1993, Bock finished with the 1990 Coach of the Year honor and 15 total golfers received NJCAA All-America honors.
Walt Williams | Coach | Western Texas & Midland (TX)
Walt Williams has coached at two NJCAA schools that experienced much success under his guidance. Williams started his NJCAA coaching career at Western Texas College where for two years his team won back-to-back conference and regional championships while finishing in the top 5 nationally both years. Williams had a total of 15 All-WJAC players and eight NJCAA All-America members while with the Texans. After a stop at Louisiana-Monroe and LeTourneau University before coming back to the NJCAA ranks with Midland.
The Chaparrals has seen success under Williams with seven top 3 NJCAA Golf Championship finishes and winning many Region V Championships. Williams has been involved nationally with serving or chairing multiple committees including Ping All-American, NJCAA All-America, Golf Week Magazine Poll, and NJCAA Coaches Poll.
