Trinity Valley's Lazavier Amos named DI Football Defensive Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC - Trinity Valley's Lazavier Amos has been named the 2025 NJCAA DI Football Defensive Player of the Year.
The Cardinals sophomore had an outstanding season, finishing with 125 tackles, 77 solo tackles, 12.5 tackles per game, 5 sacks, and 48 assists. With the numbers that Amos put up, he walks away from the 2025 season first the nation in tackles, fifth in assists and first in the nation in tackles per game.
Trinity Valleys defense allowed 22.8 points per game and 303.4 yards. The Cardinals are sixth in the nation in Sacks (45), had 2 Defensive Touchdowns, and 8 Defensive Interceptions.
The Waco, TX native is commmitted to play at the University of Louisiana- Monroe.
