Michael Douglas Jr Named 2025 NJCAA DIII Football Offensive Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC – With an elite year on the field, 2025 sealed the deal for strong career to for the North Dakota State College of Science running back. After leading his team to the national title game, Michael Douglas Jr of the North Dokota State College of Science has been named the 2025 NJCAA DIII Football Offensive Player of the Year.
Douglas Jr made an exceptional impact on the Wildcats this season. Not only did he spearhead the way to the 2025 NJCAA DIII National Championship appearance, but Douglas Jr also brought forth success to his team as they won 10 out of their 12 games this year.
Douglas Jr was named as a First-Team All-America selection in 2025 as well as Region 13 Offensive Player of the Year, All-MCAC 1st team, and All-Region 13 Team.
North Dakota Coach Mark Kennedy had this to say about Michael: "It was a great honor coaching Mike Douglas. He is not just a good football player, but he is also a good person. Mike did what was asked of him and was able to create success for him and his teammates. He will be missed."
Douglas Jr had an impressive 903 yards rushing on the season in just 10 games for the Wildcats. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry and found his way into the endzone 11 times. His most impressive game was Nov. 2 against Minnesota West Community & Technical College as he ran the ball 28 times for 290 yards and 4 touchdowns averaging 10.4 yards per carry.
Douglas Jr has proven his strengths and abilities on the field that are imperative to a team's success. As a true asset to his team, Douglas Jr's 2025 season is just the beginning of a prolific and fruitful career.
