Iowa Western’s Glantz tabbed as Offensive Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC – Iowa Western quarterback Nate Glantz has been named the 2020-21 NJCAA Football Offensive Player of the Year, presented by the Marines.
Glantz, a 6-foot-2 freshman, led the nation with 23 touchdown passes and 1,811 passing yards. In eight games, Glantz completed 63.3% of his passes (131-207) and averaged 226.4 yards per game, 8.7 yards per attempt and only threw four interceptions.
"Nate had an unbelievable season this spring," said Iowa Western head coach Scott Strohmeier. "He played with a chip on his shoulder all year and it was awesome to see the team gravitate to him as the leader."
Glantz becomes the third Reiver to be named the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year, joining Kai Locksley (QB; 2017) and Jake Waters (QB; 2012).
"Nate is the ultimate competitor and has all the intangibles you want in your quarterback," said Strohmeier. "He is a guy who everyone on the team wants to play for because of his passion for the game. He is a complete team guy who only wants team success."
In addition to the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year award, Glantz was selected as the 2021 ICCAC Offensive Player of the Year, and garnered a NJCAA First-Team All-America honor, All-Conference recognition, and All-Region recognition.
