Niagara County southpaw Ryan Peterson wins DIII Pitcher of the Year
Charlotte, NC - Ryan Peterson of Niagara County (NY) has been named the 2021 NJCAA DIII Baseball Pitcher of the Year, presented by the Marines.
Peterson was one of the top pitchers all season long for the Thunderwolves. The southpaw for Niagara County finished the season with a nation-leading 10 wins, 74 innings pitched, and 73 strikeouts. His 1.22 ERA was second in the nation. The sophomore also led the nation with seven complete games on the year.
The Thunderwolves punched their ticket to the 2021 NJCAA DIII Baseball World Series for the first time since 2017, as the No. 4 overall seed. Peterson saw two appearances for the runner-ups, where he pitched nine innings, striking out six batters, and only one walk.
Peterson has signed with George Mason University where he will continue his collegiate baseball career.
