NJCAA national team set to return to NBC World Series

The NJCAA National Baseball team will return to the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series this summer for the 84th annual event from August 1-11 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS.

The national team, which will be comprised of 26 players and five staff members, will look to improve upon their fourth-place finish in 2016 as the Most Outstanding Offensive team with a 3-1 record. In its previous appearance at the World Series, NJCAA student-athletes competed against the likes of Roger Clemens and other MLB stars.

NJCAA Coaches Association President Joe Bauth of Erie (NY), will serve as the head of the delegation traveling to Wichita. The staff for this year's team is:

Head Coach Doug Wren, Tyler (TX)

Asst. Coach Ryan Cougill- Yavapai (AZ)

Asst. Coach Sam Temple- Hinds (MS)

Athletic trainer/Asst. Administrator – Eddy McGuire, Tyler (TX)

The National team players and staff will assemble at Tyler Junior College on July 25-26. The players and staff will train for together for a week before departing for Wichita for the World Series on August 1.

NJCAA Coaches are encouraged to nominate the outstanding players in their respective programs and region to participate on this year's roster.
