Cincinnati State Surges past Ancilla Chargers
 December 17, 2013

PLYMOUTH, IN – The Surge of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College proved why they are ranked #1, as they defeated the Ancilla College men’s basketball team by a score of 88-64.

Rosey Green (13), Jakyah Qaiyim (11), and Jay Feltson (10) combined for 34 of the Chargers’ points, while South Bend native, Juwan Johnson led in scoring for Ancilla, with seventeen points. Feltson was tops in the rebound category, collecting nine total (4 offensive and 5 defensive). Johnson and Qaiyim ended the game with five total rebounds apiece for the Chargers.

“I thought we played well for 25 minutes of this game. Cincinnati State’s #1 ranking is no fluke. They have a lot of depth and can beat you in a variety of ways. We took another step in learning how to compete and I hope to continue to grow,” reflected Ancilla head coach Aaron Butcher.

The Chargers will be on the road again, this time in Danville, Illinois, where they will face the Jaguars of Danville Area Community College. Tip off will take place on Wednesday, December 18, at 8:30 p.m.

Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and eight athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
