FULTON, MS – After losing four-straight games, the ICC Indians are riding a four-game win streak into the Christmas holidays after a hard-fought 87-78 win over Snead State Community College on Saturday.

“I was proud of the effort the guys gave tonight,” said ICC head coach Grant Pate. “There were plenty of times that they could have given up and let this one get away from us, but instead they dug deep to find a way to come away with a hard-fought win.”

Tyron Wooten (Memphis, TN) scored a career and game-high 27 points while turning in career-best performances in rebounds (8), assists (4), and steals (3) on Fan Appreciation Day.

Alex Anderson (Memphis, TN) recorded his first double-double as an Indian with 22 points and 10 assists.

“Tyrone and Alex did a great job,” Pate commented. “They played extremely smart and did a great job of creating opportunities on both sides of the floor with great hustle and determination. Not only did they creating opportunities for themselves, but they did a good job of making plays for their teammates.”

Tay Crawford (Aberdeen) shad 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds while Tory Rice (Starkville) scored 9, Lakee Westbrook (Shannon) had 8, Johnthan McGee (Raymond) added 6, Austin Timms (Mooreville) chipped in 6, and Kevis Fleming (Rosa Fort) had 1 win.

Demarcus Threatt was the lone Parson to score in double figures with 23 points.

“I feel like our defensive pressure down the stretch was the difference in the game,” Pate said. “The guys did a great job of hustling after loose balls, forcing turnovers, limiting them to one-and-done possessions, and that carried over to good things happening on the offensive side of the floor.”

The Indians (6-4, 2-0 MACJC North) will return to the Davis Event Center on Monday, January 6 at 7:30 against Jones County Junior College.
