Lady Bobcats defeat East Mississippi, 64-58

SCOOBA – Freshmen Alyson Johnson, Kadie Parker and Starla Daggans combined for 35 points to lead the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats to a 64-58 victory over East Mississippi Community College here Friday night at Currie Coliseum.

Johnson, a freshman from Terry, led the way with 15 points. Parker, a freshman from Northeast Jones, and Daggans, a freshman from Bassfield, added 10 points each. Johnson led the team with five steals, while Daggans added three.

Kaylan Hughes had 10 rebounds to go with six points, while Precious Jefferson had eight points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Bobcats, 5-4, will not play again until they travel to Itawamba on Jan. 6. The next home game for JCJC will be Jan. 13 against Meridian Community College.

East Mississippi, 5-4, received 15 points from Takera Mitchell, 11 from Jaylen Cox and 10 from Savannah Kimmo. EMCC travels to East Central on Jan. 7 in its next game.
