Kiko Benoit Named NJCAA DI Volleyball Coach of the Year
Charlotte, NC – Three-time National Champion and NJCAA Volleyball Hall of Fame Coach Kiko Benoit of Miami Dade College has been named the 2025 NJCAA Division I Volleyball Coach of the Year.
A long-tenured member of the coaching staff at Miami Dade, Benoit has led the Sharks to their seventh national title in the 2025 NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship. Coach Benoit joined the Sharks in 1995 as an assistant coach before transitioning to the head coach position in 2005. Over his 20 years at the helm, the Sharks have won 14 FCSAA State Championships and made 17 appearances at the national tournament, finishing runner-up 7 times.
Miami Dade only suffered two losses on an incredible 29-2 season and put a bow on top by earning the national title in the 2025 NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship.
"Coach Benoit is the standard of excellence in Junior College volleyball. His ability to build championship-caliber teams year after year is a direct reflection of his leadership, his commitment to developing student-athletes, and the culture he's established at Miami Dade. Winning a third national title this season only reaffirms what we see every day on our campus. A coach who demands the very best while caring deeply for his players, his staff, and this program. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor with him." stated Mike Balado, Miami Dade athletic director.
In the championship match of the 2025 National Tournament, Miami Dade was dominant as they took all three sets from 2024 Champions and fellow FCSAA competitor, Florida SouthWestern. 2025 was the fourth consecutive year that Miami Dade and Florida SouthWestern have met in the championship match, and the first of those that Miami Dade has won.
Coach Benoit is sure to continue his pattern of excellence and success throughout his career.
