Topeka (KS) to Host 2026 and 2028 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships
Charlotte, NC – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced today the 2026 and 2028 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship will return to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas March 6-8, 2026, and March 3-4, 2028.
"The Topeka Area Sports Commission was delighted to host this event in 2023 and is excited to do so again in 2026 and 2028," Executive Director of the Topeka Area Sports Commission, Mike Bell, shared. "A key reason for our success is the wonderful partnership with Washburn University, which provides great exposure not just for the university itself but also highlights the vibrant community of Topeka and the entire state of Kansas."
Opened in November 2020, the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility features a 110-yard football field, 200-meter banked competition track, and seating for 1,500 spectators. The banked competition track has additional lanes for sprint and jump events. There are also three pole vault boxes, two sand jump pits, and a shotput throw area with shotput netting.
