David Elder
2nd Vice-President for Men

David Elder has demonstrated a true passion for community college athletics and highly regarded for his dedication to achievement, leadership, and service with the NJCAA and Region 17. He previously was the Athletic Director at Truett-McConnell College (Ga.) prior to the school departing the NJCAA for the NAIA.  After Truett-McConnell’s move to a four-year athletic program, Elder took his current position as Commissioner of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association, an organization with over 20 member colleges in the state of Georgia and Region 17.

2011 recipient of the George E. Killian Award for Excellence, he has embodied what the Killian Award represents through his many years of service with the NJCAA. He began his NJCAA service in 1999 as Region 17’s Men’s Assistant Region Director. The following year, Elder was promoted to Region Director, a position he has held for the last 11 years. He has served on the men’s Division I soccer, men’s Division I baseball, nominations & elections, tennis, finance & budget, eligibility, and service & recognition committees. He has also been an at-large regional representative to the executive committee twice and is currently the chair of the men’s division I baseball committee and co-chair of the finance & budget committee.
