Colorado Springs, Colo.- North Idaho College claims the top spot for the second week in the row, ending the regular season at No. 1. Blinn College (Texas) holds the No. 2 spot and Western Nebreska Community College creeps up to claim third this week after spending the whole season at No. 4. North Idaho improved to 26-4 this week defeating Eastern Utah (3-0) and Colorado Northwestern (3-0). Marketa Hanzlova’s 3.29 kills per set lead the Cardinals offensively, while Hannah Thompson heads the defensive effort with 4.63 digs per set. North Idaho will face Salt Lake tomorrow night and Snow on Saturday to finish out their regular season. If they can sweep both teams, they will set themselves up well for regional play. Blinn went 2-0 last week, improving to 25-3 on the season, defeating Navarro (3-1) and Paris (3-0). With 3.61 kills per set, sophomore Cinthya Roberto and the Buccaneers will conclude their regular season against Tyler on Oct. 29 and Temple on Nov. 2. Western Nebraska breaks into the top three in the final week due to the College of Southern Idaho's 1-1 week and their perfect 1-0 week defeating No. 12 Capser in five. Kaleinani Kabalis’ 4.57 kills per set leads the nation. She and the Cougars take on Northeastern Junior College tonight and McCook on Friday to end their regular season.
