Late Touchdown Gives Navarro 30-23 Victory over Georgia Military in Heart of Texas Bowl

COPPERAS COVE, Texas — Quarterback Stump Godfrey (#6 right) led the Navarro College (Texas) Bulldogs on a 76-yard scoring drive that was capped by his 11-yard run for a touchdown in the final seconds to secoure a 30-23 win over Georgia Military College Saturday in the Heart of Texas Bowl in Copperas Cove, Texas. Godfrey's touchdown came with just 45 seconds left in the game and was followed by a successful two-point conversion completion to Jordan Jolly. 

On the final drive of the contest, Godfrey completed passes of 17, 12, 7 and 18 yards before scrambling for the 11-yard TD. He completed 18-of-30 pass attempts on the day for 171 yards and one touchdown. Navarro running back Tyler Middleton led all rushers with 119 yards and two touchdowns, including a 46-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that cut GMC's lead to one point (23-22). 

Navarro, who entered the game ranked fifth in the nation, and has won the HOT Bowl three out of the last four years and finishes the season with a 10-2 record.

Georgia Military closes out 2012 at 7-4.
