North Idaho golfer makes U.S. Amateur Championship

For the first time in North Idaho College’s history, a member of its golf team will play in the U.S. Amateur Championship.
Sophomore Taylor Reed, from Sheridan, Wyo. shot 72 and 72 for a two-round 144 to win at the USGA qualifier in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Reed won the event by one stroke. The U.S. Amateur Championship will be held Aug. 13-19 at Cherry Hill Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo.
“He’s a really good kid. It’s nice to see him have that success since he’s worked so hard for it,” said Derrick Thompson, NIC head golf coach.
