Dennis Moore becomes first inductee into NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Hall of Fame
 May 14, 2014

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- One of the primary contributors to the NJCAA approving women's lacrosse as a certified sport 10 years ago, Dennis “Putt” Moore was the first inductee into the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame on May 10th.

Moore worked at Finger Lakes Community College (N.Y.) as the college's athletic director from 1992-2006. He coached baseball and basketball for over 20 years and earned numerous Coach of the Year awards in Region 3. Along with being named Region 3 Athletic Director of the Year, Moore has been honored by the New York State Assembly for commitment to education and community.

In 2011, the basketball court at Finger Lakes was named in his honor.

Moore's induction into the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame stems from his great contributions in getting the sport added to the NJCAA list of 'official sports' in 2003.
