TC3 Women's Soccer Game Stopped by Thunder
October 6, 2013
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Saturday’s women’s soccer game between Tompkins Cortland Community College and Jamestown Community College was stopped due to thunder less than two minutes short of being an official game. The Panthers led 2-1 at the time of the stoppage, which occurred 1:56 shy of the 70 minutes needed to make a shortened game official. Ironically, the start of the game was delayed by nearly an hour due to the TC3 vs. Jamestown men’s game that preceded the women’s contest. The men’s game went into penalty kicks after two overtimes.
As a result of the stoppage, TC3, the #10-ranked team in the nation, remains 7-3-1 overall and 3-1 in the Region III West Division. Jamestown is still 5-4 overall, and 2-2 in the West Division.
TC3 plays at Corning Community College Wednesday.
