TC3 Men's Soccer Plays to a Draw at Jamestown
 October 6, 2013

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – For the fourth time this season, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s soccer game went into overtime, and for the third time, the game ended in a tie. Playing at Jamestown Community College Saturday, the Panthers and Jayhawks ended the game deadlocked at 1-1. TC3, ranked #3 in the nation, is now 8-0-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the Region III West Division. Jamestown is now 7-4-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the West Division.

The game was the first time TC3 has played on grass in nearly a month, and the Panthers struggled adjusting to the difference. TC3 did manage to take the lead late in the half with Sean Streb (Lansing H.S./Lansing) scoring off an assist from Yauhen Malko (James Madison H.S./Brooklyn) in the 40th minute. The lead held until the 77th minute when the home team evened the score. Neither team could find the net through two overtimes, leaving the final 1-1.

TC3 keeper McZiggy Richards (School for Human Rights H.S./Brooklyn) made two saves on the day.

The game is officially a tie, but following the end of the overtime, the two teams squared off on penalty kicks. The penalty kick result is used as a tie breaker for postseason seeding. In the penalty kicks, Jamestown beat TC3 5-4.

The Panthers play at Corning Community College Wednesday.
