RLC Volleyball falls to ICC at home

INA, Ill. (Oct. 3, 2013) – The Rend Lake College Lady Warriors took on Illinois Central College Thursday night at home and lost 0-3. In the first set, the Warriors scored 20, followed by 12 and 13 in the second and third sets respectively.

Freshmen Abby Bennett (Ewing) and Madison Grammer (Benton, Ky.) led RLC with nine kills each spanning through the three sets. Bennett also tied with sophomore Kourtney Heggemeier (Nashville) with one block each. Setter Lindsay Winter, a sophomore from Pinckneyville, led the team with 23 assists.

Freshman Sydney Crews (Mt. Vernon) also logged seven digs. The Lady Warriors are now 3-19 for the season.

The Lady Warriors will continue their season this weekend at the Kankakee Community College Tournament in Kankakee on Oct. 4 and 5. They will return to Ina for a game against Greenville College at 7 p.m. Oct. 7. For all things athletic at The Lake, visit RLC online at www.rlc.edu/warriors.
