Panthers and Onondaga Play Decisive Game Sunday
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team kept its season alive Saturday by winning one of two games against Onondaga Community College in the NJCAA Region III playoffs opening round. After dropping the first game 9-1, the Panthers bounced back in a big way, winning the second game 9-0. The decisive game three of the opening round series will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. in Syracuse.
?After a first game that featured few highlights aside from a two-hit performance byAshley Boda (Ithaca H.S./Ithaca), the Panthers came roaring back in game two. Taylor Policay(Lansing H.S./Lansing) went deep twice, becoming the first TC3 softball player ever to hit two homers in one playoff game. Katie Huston (Chenango Valley H.S./Binghamton) also hit one outand pitcher Seneca Baldwin (Oneonta H.S./Oneonta) sparkled in the circle, striking out three and pitching the shutout.
