Toledo, OH---Nick Morrow picked up the complete game victory in game two to help the Express baseball team pick up a split in today's doubleheader against Ashland University JV.

Game 1: Ashland University JV 1 Owens 0

The Express couldn't get much going offensively in a first game loss. They managed five hits (four from two players), as Ashland's Zach Wolfe threw a gem.

Wolfe allowed five hits and four walks while striking out six over seven innings.

Express starter Sean Koerber also pitched very well, despite the loss. In a complete game, he allowed only five hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. His only run given up was unearned.

The Express offense was led by Logan Shullick (2-for-3) and Anthony Perez (2-for-3)

Ashland's only run came in the fourth on a sacrifice fly. The Express had two runners on in multiple innings, but couldn't push any across.

Then, in the fifth, Perez scored on a failed pickoff attempt and Nolan Raohad a sacrifice fly to put the Express up 5-1.

The next half inning saw the only major hiccup for Morrow as he allowed three runs on a bases loaded walk and a two-run single.

Morrow's final line included seven innings, two hits, four runs (three earned), five walks and two strikeouts.

Ashland's Alex Smith took the loss after he allowed two hits, three runs (two earned) and two walks in three innings.
