COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Jacinda Myers-Sanders (Hillsborough CC, Fla.), Cameron Vaughn (Cincinnati State TCC, Ohio) and Krista Hoffman (Harrisburg Area CC, Pa.) have been named NJCAA women’s basketball players of the week for games Feb. 4-10.

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jacinda Myers-Sanders – Hillsborough Community College, Fla.
Forward – Tampa, Fla. – Hillsborough High School

The Hawks went 1-1 in their two games last week behind back-to-back double-double performances from Myers-Sanders. Against Santa Fe College (Fla.), the sophomore scored 24 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field and added 11 rebounds in a 78-56 defeat. Myers-Sanders put Hillsborough back in the win column against College of Central Florida, recording 19 points and 11 boards in a 66-56 victory. Averaging just under a double-double for the season, Myers-Sanders leads the Hawks with 14.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

DIVISION II PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Cameron Vaughn – Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Ohio
Forward – Xenia, Ohio – Xenia High School

Vaughn’s talents on the boards elevated the Surge over both of their conference opponents last week. The sophomore tallied 17 points and 17 rebounds as Cincinnati State defeated Edison CC (Ohio), 67-59. Vaughn followed up with nearly identical numbers against Lakeland CC (Ohio). Knocking down 8-of-10 shots from the field, Vaughn finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds as the Surge cruised to an 88-40 victory. On the season, Vaughn ranks second in DII in offensive rebounds with 6.8 per game.

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Krista Hoffman – Harrisburg Area Community College, Pa.
Guard – Elizabethtown, Pa. – Lower Dauphin High School

With only five players on their roster, the Hawks relied heavily on Hoffman last week as they went 2-1 in three games. Playing every minute of all three games, Hoffman averaged 29.3 points and surpassed the 35-point mark twice. Hoffman put her poise on display in a 74-65 win over Montgomery County CC (Pa.), sinking 24-of-25 free throw attempts. As the team’s leading-scorer, Hoffmann is averaging 18.4 points per game this season.
