VU Women's Basketball tops Lincoln Trail 65-51 behind 20 each from Parmer and Chukhrii

ROBINSON, Ill. – Freshman Shelby Parmer and sophomore Zhanna Chukhrii both scored 20 points as the Vincennes University Women’s Basketball Team topped Lincoln Trail 65-51 Wednesday at Robinson, IL.
The Trailblazers got out to a lead and held a 28-24 advantage at halftime. In the second half, VU stretched the lead to double digits and kept it there throughout the second 20 minutes for the victory. The Trailblazers’ 6-of-8 shooting at the free throw line in the second half, including Parmer’s 3-for-4 performance, helped maintain the cushion.
VU, which improved to 6-9 on the season, will return to the VU P.E. Complex Saturday to host Wabash Valley at 5 p.m. It will be a pack the house night Saturday at the VU P.E. Complex. In addition to the Trailblazers taking on the Warriors (women’s game at 5 p.m.; men’s game at 7 p.m.) in The Clash on the Wabash, several contests, other prize giveaways and lots of fun activities are planned for the entire university and surrounding communities.
