Moore's 23 not enough as Lady Texans fall to Collin County
 November 25, 2012

PLANO, Texas – The South Plains College Lady Texans dropped their second game of the season Saturday night, losing to host Collin County at their annual Thanksgiving Classic, 74-70, in a tightly contested game that featured 16 tied scores.

After trailing early in the first half, South Plains (7-2) applied some pressure and took a six point lead, 32-26, in the final minutes of the first half.  The Lady Cougars responded with an 8-2 run that knotted up the score at 34 apiece at halftime.

Neither team was able to separate themselves by more than four points in the second half.  With the score tied up at 70 with just over a minute remaining, Collin’s Nina Fofang took advantage of a second chance opportunity with a made field goal that put her team up by two.

A missed jumper by Kayla Turner was rebounded by Lindsey Lee with 24-seconds left and Lee was fouled as she tried to tie the game, sending her to the free throw line where she missed both but retrieved her own rebound.  Turner tried to win the game, but a 3-point jumper was off the mark.  Fofang rebounded the shot and converted a fast-break to seal the win for Collin.

TaSheena Moore scored 23-points to lead the Texans, making 6-of-15 shots from the field.  Sydney Hearn added 10.

The Lady Texans have two games remaining on their fall schedule as they travel to the Rip Griffin Center Tuesday, Nov. 26 for a 5:30 p.m. game against the Lubbock Christian junior varsity before hosting the Dallas Diesel at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.
