Meridian men win season opener
November 3, 2009(MERIDIAN) -The Meridian Community College men's basketball team started their 2009-2010 season at home against New Horizon on Monday night. MCC led 42-39 at halftime, then found themselves tied up late in the game. Deionte Dean, a freshman from Jackson, scored the game winning layup late in the contest to seal the victory for MCC. The Eagles won their season opener by two points, 80-78. Dean ended up with eight points on the game. Rashad Robinson, a freshman out of Newton, led MCC in scoring with 21points while Jared Hudnall, a sophomore from Meridian, added 19 points in the victory for MCC. The Eagles (1-0) return to action on Thursday at 7 PM as they host Mississippi Elite. |
