Solid Start for Chargers Golf Team

PLYMOUTH, IN – The Ancilla College golf team hosted their Spring Invitational at Swan Lake Resort on Friday, April, 11, where the Chargers claimed third place, with 316.

The match, which was played on the Black Course, was scored and ruled on by PGA professional Chad Hutsell. Visiting teams included: Muskegon Community College, Trine University, Grand Rapids Community College, and North Park College.

The Raiders of GRCC won the match, with a team score of 289. Second place went to TU with 313, while Ancilla totaled 316 and took third.

Eric Davis led the Chargers with an even par round of 72, followed by Spencer Mortola with a 79. Zarek Finley, Cody Bennett, Jack Leland, and Drew Roser each added to Ancilla’s scoring.

            "I was pleased with our effort today, we scored well despite limited practices outside," remarked Charger coach Marc Hayden. He further commented, “Eric [Davis] played very well today and put his name on the map as a player to watch. Cody [Bennett] was finally able to put things together and I appreciate his mental approach to the game.

Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and eight athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
