Vikings Victorious over Lady Chargers
 January 23, 2014

PLYMOUTH, IN – Despite a strong team effort, Ancilla College was defeated by the Vikings of Glen Oaks Community College, by a score of 69-62.

After the first twenty minutes, the Lady Chargers found themselves trailing by five. Throughout an exciting second half, Ancilla was able to cut their deficit to two points; however, the Vikings capitalized on key opportunities, improving their score and maintaining the advantage until the end.

Leading the Charger offense with 26 points was Hope Wagner. Taylor Kuhnle added fifteen points for Ancilla, while Brittany Himes put up ten points and pulled down eleven total rebounds.

Charger coach Stephanie Beason explained, “One of our biggest problems is getting off to slow starts. We put ourselves in such a huge deficit that it’s hard to come back from. If we can make adjustments and get that straightened out, then we will win some games down the stretch.”

Saturday, January 25, the Lady Chargers will be on the road against Muskegon Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and eight athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
