Road Win for TC3 Women's Basketball; Panthers Top Cayuga 75-53

AUBURN, N.Y. – A big second half blew open a close game as the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team beat Cayuga Community College Wednesday. The Panthers posted a 75-53 win to improve to 2-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and 4-10 overall. Cayuga is now 0-6 in the MSAC and 1-18 overall.

The score was 35-34 at the half, but TC3 quickly added to the lead in the second half. After nine minutes of the second half the lead stood at nine points at 51-42. The margin grew to a dozen at 64-52 with 5:10 left. The Panthers limited the home team to a single point the rest of the way, extending the lead to final margin of 19 points.

Four Panthers reached double figures, led by Ruthanne Forehand (Groton H.S./Groton) with 22 points. The freshman added eight rebounds, five steals, and three assists to her stat line. Meghan Ideman (Moravia H.S./Moravia) scored 18 points while grabbing five rebounds and Jaquela Lockwood (Fowler H.S./Syracuse) and Audrey Kate Ordway (Dryden H.S./Dryden) each had 11 points, with Ordway also pulling down nine boards. Taylor Policay (Lansing H.S./Lansing) led the team with 12 rebounds and six assists.

TC3 hosts Finger Lakes Community College Saturday.
