Road Win for TC3 Men's Basketball

Panthers Beat Broome 70-66

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – A balanced attack that featured four players in double figures led the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team to a 70-66 road win at SUNY Broome Saturday. The win improves the Panthers to 2-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and 7-5 overall. Broome falls to 0-2 in the MSAC and 7-8 overall.

Freshman Joel Costello (Middleburgh H.S./Middleburgh) had a great game, logging career highs of 18 points and five steals, while also handing out five assists and pulling down seven rebounds. Sophomores Laszlo Hajnoczi (Hunter-Tannersville H.S./Tannersville) and Devin Redden (St. Mary’s H.S./Buffalo) each had double-doubles: Hajnoczi had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Redden had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Warchocki (Owego Free Academy/Owego) had a solid game with 10 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Nicc Johnson (St. Mary’s H.S./Buffalo) followed up Thursday’s triple double with another impressive stat line: nine points, seven rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Shaquille Duberry (All Hallows H.S./Manhattan) provided some force on the glass, grabbing six rebounds.

TC3 plays at Corning Community College Tuesday.
