TC3 Women's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Nation's #3

Panthers Fall to Finger Lakes 5-3
CANADAIGUA, N.Y. – Playing on the road against the third-ranked team in the nation, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team came up on the short end of a 5-3 final. The loss to Finger Lakes Community College drops TC3’s record to 8-4-1 overall, 4-2 in the Region III West Division, and 3-1-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes improves to 13-3 overall, 8-0 in the West, and 5-1 in the MSAC.
After Finger Lakes took the early lead, Hannah Wildenstein (Dryden H.S./Freeville) tied the score with a goal off an assist from Megan Reynolds (Chazy H.S./Chazy) in the 36th minute. The home team scored a late goal to take a 2-1 lead into the half. The Panthers could never catch up, despite two goals in the second half. Mercedes Kendall (Union-Endicott H.S./Endicott) and Taylor Liebowitz (Emmaus H.S./Allentown, Penn.) each netted unassisted goals, but Finger Lakes kept the lead with three second-half scores.
TC3 closes the regular season Wednesday at home against Cayuga Community College.
