Cougars Conquer Chargers

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Ancilla College volleyball team faced defeat as they lost to Kalamazoo Valley Community College by a score of 25-15, 25-11, 25-16.
Combining for 100% of the Chargers’ assists, Courtney Griffith and Suzanne Grimm set for twelve each, leading the offensive efforts. Nineteen of Ancilla’s 28 kills came courtesy of Amber Redinger (7), Mariah Kinney (6), and Hayley Mavrick (6). Defensively, Mavrick dished out ten digs while Hannah Sneed added eight of her own. Jessica Moore ended the evening with 11-11 in serve receive for the Chargers.
“Kalamazoo Valley is a good team and is coached well. They are an athletic group and we simply could not answer on defense,” reflected Ancilla coach Lana Singleton. She further stated, “We will regroup and focus on our next game.”
The Chargers will host Waubonsee Community College and Danville Area Community College at the LifePlex in the Ancilla College Tri-Match, Saturday, October 12, at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and eight athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
