Panthers Baseball Drops Two to Onondaga

DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Tompkins Cortland Community College baseball team dropped a pair of home game Saturday, losing to Onondaga Community College 8-0 and 9-1. The defeats leave TC3 with a record of 5-15 in the West Division and 5-17 overall. Onondaga moves to 11-6 in the West Division and 20-13 overall.

The Panthers trailed early in game one, with Onondaga scoring in each of the first four innings to lead 7-0. The Lazers tacked on another run in the seventh to make the final 8-0.

Game two was scoreless into the third when Onondaga plated three runs. Both teams scored a run in the fifth, but the visitors scored five times in the sixth blow the game open.

TC3 managed just ten hits in the doubleheader, with Sean Streb (Lansing H.S./Lansing), Matt Jones (Greene H.S./Greene), and Brian Pfund (East Hampton H.S./Montauk) each recording three of them. Quincey Vanlew (Mount Vernon H.S./Mount Vernon) was the only other Panther to register a hit on the day.

TC3 travels to Onondaga Community College Sunday.
