Booneville, Miss. – Northeast Mississippi Community College’s baseball team split with Holmes Community College in Goodman on Saturday, April 6.

In game one, the Tigers (17-13, 9-5) were able to put five runs up on the board in the first inning and never looked back defeating Holmes (16-15, 6-6) 12-5 in the opener. 

Northeast continued to hit the ball well and scored 12 runs on 13 hits . . . thanks in part to multiple hitters Chris Aichinger, Josh Mills , and Will Robertson.  Robertson and Beck both had homeruns for the Tigers in game one.

Kyle Stephenson moved to 2-0 on the mound for the Tigers while Steven Blanchard for Holmes dropped to 4-1 overall with the loss.

In game two, Northeast  went into extra innings with the Bulldogs and unfortunately dropped the nightcap on a final of 6-5.

Trey Goff moved to 3-0 from the hill while Josh Drake fell to 0-2 for the Tigers.

Multiple hits came from Heath Wood, Robertson, Ethan Estes, and Luke Stanley for Northeast in game two.
Coach Farris and company travels to Scooba to take on East Mississippi on Tuesday, April 9 in a North Division doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
