Bucs cruise past South Suburban in non-conference contest
March 14, 2013Jones, Santana drive in three runs apiece in 14-6 victory BRENHAM, Texas – Scott Jones and Kevin Santana each drove in three runs and seven Blinn College pitchers combined to hold South Suburban (Ill.) to eight hits Wednesday in a 14-6 non-conference victory at Leroy Dreyer Field. The Buccaneers piled up 15 hits as Hayden Vesely and Colin Kowal each drove in a pair of runs and Cullen Gassaway went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Freshman Tyler Day earned the win, throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. Blinn travels to Houston Friday for a 6 p.m. Region XIV Conference game against San Jacinto, then hosts the Gators for a 2 p.m. double-header at Leroy Dreyer Field.
