Total Team Effort as Ancilla Defeats Kalamazoo
February 14, 2013PLYMOUTH, IN – The Chargers men's basketball team won a conference game over Kalamazoo Valley Community College Wednesday 74-70. The win brings their record to 8-14 on the regular season and 2-10 in MCCAA. Coach Butcher happily stated, "I am really happy for our guys. We found ourselves in the same situation we have been in most of the year-in a tight game down the stretch. All season we have struggled to finish and tonight we made the plays we needed to and got the win. Kalamazoo Valley is a very good team." Top performances were turned in by Demetrius Adams (Lake Station, IN) with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks while Rosey Green (South Bend, IN) contributed 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jakyah Quayim (Elkhart, IN) had 13 points and Sean Hoevener (Madison, IN) added 11 points for the Chargers. Butcher concluded, “It was a total team effort and hopefully we can keep it going Saturday when we host a very good Grand Rapids team.” The Chargers continue MCCAA play when they host Grand Rapids Community College on Saturday, February 16 with tipoff at 3:00p.m. Ancilla College enrolls 500 students in 17 degree programs ranging from accounting to nursing. It was founded by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in 1937, and is located 2 miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth. |
