TC3 Men's Basketball Improves to 7-1 in Conference

Panthers Beat Jefferson to Remain in First Place in MSAC
DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team improved to 7-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference Wednesday with a 72-60 win over Jefferson Community College. The home win keeps the Panthers alone in the first-place in the MSAC, and moves the team’s overall record to 15-4. Jefferson drops to 5-16 overall and 0-8 in the MSAC.
The home scored first and never trailed. Tyseem Lyles (Health Professions H.S./Brooklyn) led the first-half charge with ten points as TC3 went to the locker room with a 32-25 lead at the half. The margin remained in the teens most of the second half and never dropped below double-digits before settling at the 72-60 final.
Devin Redden (St. Mary’s H.S./Buffalo) finished with a game-high 18 points and six steals. Lyles ended the night with 17 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Matt Warchocki (Owego Free Academy/Owego) had a big second-half, scoring all of his 13 points after intermission.
TC3 hosts Broome Community College Saturday at noon.
