COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Jonathan Holton (Palm Beach State), Tony Jones (Johnson County CC, Kan.) and Corey White (Wytheville CC, Va.) have been named NJCAA men’s basketball players of the week for games Dec. 3-9.

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jonathan Holton – Palm Beach State College, Fla.
Forward – Miami, Fla. – Coral Gables High School

The Panthers earned two crucial victories in the Sunshine State last week behind Holton. In a 73-57 win over Santa Fe College (Fla.), the sophomore recorded 24 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks. Going up against No. 2 Northwest Florida State, Holton connected on 6-of-15 shots from the field for 18 points and dominated the boards with a game-high 21 rebounds. Defensively, Holton recorded another five blocks and picked away two steals in the 68-63 upset.

DIVISION II PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Tony Jones – Johnson County Community College, Kan.
Forward – Raymore, Mo. – Raymore-Peculiar High School

Johnson County has had a rough start to the 2012-13 season but an outstanding effort from Jones last week snapped the Cavaliers’ five-game losing streak. Jones posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds en route to a 60-48 win over Wentworth Military Academy. The sophomore recorded another double-double in a 70-45 loss to Highland CC (Kan.), scoring 19 points and pulling down a game-high 18 boards.

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Corey White – Wytheville Community College, Va.
Forward – Ruther Glen, Va. – Massaponax High School

White’s effort last week extended the Wildcats’ win-streak to five games. The freshman hit 8-of-14 shots from the field for 18 points and hauled in 11 rebounds as Wytheville dismantled Virginia Highlands CC, 101-65. Against Virginia Western CC, White tallied another double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds in an 86-80 victory.
