TC3 Men's Basketball Beats Jamestown-Cattaraugus in Tarantelli Classic Opener
December 1, 2012Panthers Win 79-69 Over Division II Team CORNING, N.Y. – Scoring from 11 players powered the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team to a 79-69 win over Jamestown Community College-Cattaraugus in the opener of the Tarantelli Classic in Corning. The Panthers are now 5-3 overall, with two wins against Division II teams. Jamestown-Cattaraugus, a D-II team, falls to 5-4. The Panthers controlled the game throughout, leading 40-25 at the half before coasting to the win. Tyseem Lyles (Health Professions H.S./Brooklyn) led the Panthers with 24 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals, and three blocked shots. Brandon Reed (Corcoran H.S./Syracuse) posted another double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Tyriek Johnson (Briarcliff H.S./Elmsford) also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points. TC3 will play for the Tarantelli Classic title Sunday at 1 p.m. against Columbia-Greene Community College. |
