Lady Texans knock off Chandler-Gilbert to win season opener
November 2, 2012THATCHER, Ariz. - The South Plains College Lady Texans got 20 points and eight rebounds from freshman wing TaSheena Moore while Stephanie Moore added 13 points and seven rebounds to help the Lady Texans to a 68-54 season opening victory over Chandler-Gilbert College Thursday night in Thatcher, Ariz. Tasheena Moore made 9-of-13 shots in her Lady Texan debut. Alexius Dawn was the third Lady Texan scoring double digits, chipping in with 10. SPC built up a nine point lead at the half, 33-24, on their way to an 11 point victory.
The Lady Texans will get right back to work today at 2 p.m. CST when they face Pima College on the campus of Eastern Arizona. The SPC women look to avenge a 96-73 loss to Pima last season. |
