Hinds women's soccer wraps up tremendous season
October 23, 2012
RAYMOND – The 2012 season did not finish the way the way that the Hinds Community College women’s soccer team would have hoped, but the Lady Eagles had a tremendous season nonetheless. The Lady Eagles, who had an 11-game winning streak during the season that lasted over a month, finished 12-4 on the year and claimed the North division title yet again. Hinds was led on the season by Breanna Green and Pam Usry, both forwards and residents of Pearl. Green, a freshman, led the team in scoring with 24 total points on the strength of eight goals and eight assists. Usry, a sophomore who was named to the MACJC All-State team as a freshman, was the team leader in goals scored with 10 and finished second in total points with 22 after picking up two assists. Robin Cooper (Vicksburg), a freshman goalkeeper, was a force for the Lady Eagles in goal during her freshman campaign. She was especially tough during the team’s 11-game winning streak, recording three shutouts. For more on Hinds women’s soccer go to www.hindsccsports.com. |
