Southwest Mississippi CC Will Induct New HOF Class October 13th

Willie Leggett, III, and Wilford Case, Jr., will be inducted into the Southwest Sports Hall of Fame during Homecoming festivities on October 13.
Leggett, a native of New Orleans, is a 1986 graduate of Liberty High School. At Southwest, he was a member of the football team and received league All-Defense honors and was selected to play in the 1987 All-Star game. In 1988, he was inducted into the Southwest Hall of Fame.
Following Southwest, Leggett played football at Oregon Tech. There he was a 1988 All-Conference Defensive Player of the Year and a 1989 All-American selection. He was also named Defensive Player of the Week several times in 1988 and 1989. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering and later received a Master of Science degree in Operations Management from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Leggett played professionally in Scotland for the Glasgow Lions in 1990 and 1991. Currently, he is employed by Frito Lay, Inc. (a division of PepsiCo) in Irving, TX, as the Director of Manufacturing.
Case is a 1973 graduate of South Pike High School. While there, he played football, basketball and baseball. He received the Best Offensive Lineman award in 1973 and the Most Valuable Player award for baseball in 1972 and 1973. He was inducted into the South Pike Hall of Fame in 1972 and was in the Who’s Who Among High School Students.
At Southwest, Case played on the baseball and football teams. He received Honorable Mention All-State recognition for football in 1974 and 1975 and was a 1974 and 1975 First Team, All-State selection in baseball. He was also a member of Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. He graduated from Southwest in 1975 with an Associate of Arts degree.
Case attended Kilgore College (TX) in 2004 and has received a certification in both Petroleum Technology and Texas Oil and Gas Law.
He currently lives in Longview, TX, where he is a registered Petroleum Landman. He is co-owner of Trinity Land Services in Longview, a company that offers its services to the oil and natural gas industry.
