NJCAA Women's Soccer Players of the Week (Oct. 14, 2009)

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Oct. 14, 2009) - Kaylee Neutzling of Lewis & Clark Community College (Ill.) and Katie Joliff of the St. Louis Community College- Meramec have been named the NJCAA Division I Soccer Player and Goalie of the Week. Kristina Laureigh of Ocean County College (N.J.) has earned the Division III honor.

Kaylee Neutzling (Edwardsville; Edwardsville, Ill.) recorded two hat trick last week to be named the NJCAA Division I Player of the Week. The 5'4" forward kicked the week off with two goals against St. Charles (5-0), followed by back-to-back hat trick performances against Springfield (9-0) and Young Harris (5-0). She finished the week with two more goals to win an overtime battle against No. 1 Monroe CC (2-1). Neutzling's offensive power helped Lewis & Clark pull ahead of Monroe in this week's poll, going from No. 4 to No. 2. |

Katie Joliff (Northwest; St. Louis, Mo.) led St. Louis-Meramec to three straight shutouts, including two last week. The 5'2" keeper recorded 13 saves with a 100 percent goals against average last week, moving her season record to 4-3. It was Joliff's performance which helped Meramec squeak by in both 1-0 wins.

Kristina Laureigh (Lacey; Forked River, N.J.) led the defensive effort for Ocean County College last week, as they went 3-0. The sophomore captain directed a defensive that allowed only two shots on goal over three games last week. With nine team shutouts on the season, Ocean has allowed only five shots over five shutouts when Laureigh's has led the defensive.
