NJCAA Football Players of the Week (Week 2)
 September 4, 2013

Georgia Military running back Jovon Robinson, Ellsworth cornerback DeMarkus Carey and East Mississippi punt returner C.J. Bates have been named NJCAA Football Players of the Week for games Aug. 29 – Sept. 1.





OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jovon Robinson – Georgia Military
Running Back – Freshman

In just his second collegiate game, Robinson ran for over 300 yards and two touchdowns en route to the Bulldogs’ 35-17 upset of No. 2 Snow.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DeMarkus Carey – Ellsworth
Cornerback – Sophomore

Despite being on the wrong end of a 32-16 game at North Dakota SCS, Carey did all he could for the Panthers by forcing four turnovers and blocking three extra-point attempts.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

C.J. Bates – East Mississippi
Punt Returner – Freshman

Making an impact in his first collegiate game, Bates’ 62-yard punt return for a touchdown helped propel the No. 8 Lions to a 49-6 win at Pearl River.
