COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Jeffrey Solarin (Northwest College, Wyo.), Sean Deniton (Guilford TCC, N.C.) and Jose Reyes (Hudson Valley CC, N.Y.) have been named NJCAA men’s basketball players of the week for games Feb. 11-17.

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jeffrey Solarin – Northwest College, Wyo.
Forward – Aurora, Colo. – Rangeview High School

Back-to-back double-doubles from Solarin last week propelled the Trappers to victory in two crucial Region 9 games. Against Casper College (Wyo.), Solarin scored a game-high 29 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field and pulled down a game-high 20 rebounds in a 76-68 win. The sophomore continued his hot streak against Miles CC (Mont.), hitting 10-of-15 field goal attempts for a game-high 21 points. Solarin added 17 rebounds – seven on the offensive end – as the Trappers notched a 79-68 victory. Leading Northwest in scoring and rebounding this season, Solarin is averaging 14.9 points and 8.3 boards per game.

DIVISION II PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Sean Deniton – Guilford Technical Community College, N.C.
Guard – Durham, N.C. – Faith Christian Academy

The 2012-13 season continues to be a tumultuous one for the Titans whose only bright spot in last week’s three losses came from Deniton’s spectacular efforts. The sophomore began the week with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field in a 73-46 loss to Rockingham CC (N.C.). Deniton came back with a triple-double against Lenoir CC (N.C.), totaling 44 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 96-87 defeat. Capping off the week with a double-double, Deniton posted 34 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in a 97-81 loss at Davidson County CC (N.C.). Playing only six players since the start of the spring semester, Guilford Tech has relied heavily on Deniton’s 22.4 points per game which ranks sixth in DII.

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jose Reyes – Hudson Valley Community College, N.Y.
Guard – Clifton Park, N.Y. – Shenendehowa High School

Reyes led the Vikings to two victories last week including an upset of a top 10 opponent. In a 77-68 win over Schenectady County CC (N.Y.), Reyes recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 14 assists. The freshman tallied another double-double against No. 6 SUNY-Delhi (N.Y.), scoring a game-high 14 points to go along with 11 assists in the 49-47 upset. Reyes leads the Vikings with 15.4 points per game this season and ranks seventh in DIII in assists, averaging 7.5 per game.
