Former Football Players Lotulelei and Patton named NCAA All-Americans
 December 14, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Two former NJCAA football players were named to the Associated Press All-America team Tuesday. Former Snow defensive lineman Star Lotulelei claimed first team All-America honors, while former Coffeyville wide receiver Quinton Patton was named a second team All-American.

Lotulelei (right) has been a staple of Utah’s defensive front ever since arriving in Salt Lake City. During the 2012 regular season, Lotulelei totaled 42 tackles – 10 for a loss – and led the Utes with five sacks. The former Badger showcased his playmaking abilities with three forced fumbles and a team-high four fumble recoveries. A first team all-conference selection for the second consecutive season, Lotulelei has been the most dominant defensive tackle in the Pacific-12 Conference over the past two years. Lotulelei received the Morris Trophy in 2011 which is awarded to the Pac-12's best defensive lineman as voted on by the conference’s starting offensive linemen. During his one season of play at Snow, Lotulelei recorded 52 tackles – 14 for a loss – and three sacks. Lotulelei is ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in Todd McShay’s latest 2013 NFL Draft board.

Louisiana Tech’s second-ranked offense has relied heavily on Patton (left) in 2012. The former Red Raven leads the Bulldogs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches. Patton ranks fourth in the nation in receiving yards with 1,392 and touchdown receptions with 13. The senior’s 104 receptions are the fifth-most in the country. In two seasons at Coffeyville, Patton accumulated 73 receptions for 996 yards and seven touchdowns. A two-time, first team all-conference selection in the Western Athletic Conference, Patton has established himself as one of the top receiving prospects in the 2013 NFL Draft.
