NJCAA Football Players of the Week - Week 8
October 16, 2012
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Terrell Lane (Hutchinson CC, Kan.), Devron Moore (Northeastern Oklahoma A&M) and Jacorie Ousley (Holmes CC, Miss.) have been named NJCAA Football Players of the Week for Week 8.
En route to a 75-0 shellacking of Independence CC (Kan.), Lane earned himself his second player of the week award of the season with a fantastic effort. The sophomore running back carried the ball 19 times for 178 yards – averaging 9.4 yards per carry – and scored three touchdowns. Catching the ball out of the backfield, Lane also snagged a 27-yard touchdown pass on his only reception of the game. No. 12 Hutchinson and Lane travel to Fort Scott Saturday.
Coming up big in the NJCAA “Game of the Week”, Moore was an absolute ball hawk in the Norsemen’s 42-24 win over No. 5 Kilgore. Of the three quarterbacks that Kilgore played, each of them was intercepted by Moore. Adding to his three picks, the freshman put his physical ability on display with seven tackles and two assisted. Saturday, Moore and the No. 9 Norsemen head to Cisco.
Despite the Bulldogs’ 32-20 loss to No. 6 Northwest Mississippi, Ousley provided Holmes with an early spark. After the Rangers tied up the game at 7-7, Ousley took the ensuing kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown. The sophomore finished with 174 yards on five kick returns, averaging 34.8 yards per return. Returning home Thursday, Ousley and the Bulldogs play host to Hinds.
