NJCAA Women's Basketball All-American Teams Announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 1, 2010) -- The NJCAA has released its All-Americans for Division I, II and III Women's Basketball for the 2009-2010 season. The selections were recently made at the 2010 NJCAA Annual Meeting held March 24-27 in Colorado Springs, Colo., by the respective basketball committee of each division.
The DI women's basketball All-American team is headlined by six repeat award winners. Northeastern Junior College's (Colo.) Sabelle Diata earns First-Team honors this year after being named to the Honorable Mention list in 2009. Lakrystle Goss of Walters State (Tenn.) was a First-Team honoree last season and this season is a Second-Team All-American. Hutchinson Community College's (Kan.) Heather Robben makes the Third-Team for the second straight season while Deree Fooks of Monroe Community College (N.Y.) and Ashley Buis of Vincennes University (Ind.) both earn Honorable Mention accolades for the second consecutive year. Krystal Parnell of Monroe Community College (N.Y.) also gets Honorable Mention recognition after earning Second-Team honors in 2009.
2010 NJCAA Women's Division I Basketball All-American Team
The Division II All-American team has three different repeat First-Team All-Americans. Kwinnyata Mercer of Marshalltown Community College (Iowa), Tia Morrison of Pima Community College (Ariz.) and Jobeth Williams of North Arkansas College all earn First-Team honors for the second straight year. They become the only the 15th, 16th and 17th players to twice receive First-Team honors in DII women's basketball.
Also earning All-American honors for the second time in Division II is Abyee Maracigan of Pima Community College (Ariz.) and Emily McLain of Kishwaukee College (Ill.) both earn Third-Team honors this season. Maracigan was a Third-Team honoree last year while McLain was a Second-Team performer in 2009.

The DIII All-American First-Team is headlined by Caitlyn Dillard of Cayuga Community College (N.Y.) and Jaclyn Nucci of Anne Arundel Community College, Md. Dillard was a Third-Team honoree last year while Nucci was a Second-Team performer a year ago. Yanette Feagin of Milwaukee Area Technical College (Wisc.) receives Second-Team accolades this year after making the Honorable Mention list in 2009.
